This is an interesting read. The story has two narrators, Marie and Antoinette van Goethem, sisters on diverging tracks in their lives. Marie is the model for some of Degas' most famous paintings and sculptures and the sisters were real, though parts of the story have been fictionalized, like Antoinette's relationship with Emile Abadie (though he was a real person too). It's interesting to hear their very different voices and see how they each view events of the story in such different ways.Overall, a pretty good read. I'd recommend it to people who like historical fiction.
