This was a really enjoyable, light read. The characters are very well written and funny, and the story is very fast-paced.Alexia Tarabotti is different - she was born without a soul. She's not evil or unfeeling, just lacking in the soul department. Lord Maccon is a werewolf who is also the head of a government agency that's tasked with keeping tabs on the supernatural community in Victorian London. When Alexia is attacked by a vampire at a ball, she's forced to kill him and Lord Maccon investigates the attack. Together they unravel the mystery and realize that they're crazy in love with each other. Who else will put up with a domineering werewolf but a fiesty soulless spinster?
