I read this book as part of the "1001 books to read before you die" list. This was an interesting ghost story, not exactly what I'd call scary, but entertaining. Some of the passages were a little dense and the plot was not always super clear, but that's more a function of the language of the times when this book was written. I have to admit, I did not see the ending coming. This is a short novel, so it's a fast read. Overall, it's a pretty good book.
